Below are photos I took, originally published by Reno.com on April 23, 2016, of the First Annual Victory Way Block Party. I Spent most of the day wandering the streets looking for a few projects and events I’d heard we’re happening on the day, and knew would make for great photos. Most of the subject matter I looked for, though, were people’s candid interactions with each other, the performers, and event staff–photos I thought would show the reality of what an event like this meant for a neighborhood unused to seeing such lively and entertaining spectacles. I took these photos with Nikon 5200, alternating between my 35mm and 50mm prime lenses.
